Communities for Children
Communities for Children supports children aged 0 – 12 and their families through the provision of place-based, targeted and holistic programs.
Murwillumbah and Lismore Communities for Children are two of 52 sites across Australia. Funded by the Department of Social Services under the Families and Communities Programme, the Communities for Children initiative provides services to ensure children have the best start in life by focusing on prevention and early intervention approaches that bring about positive family functioning, safety and child development outcomes for children and their families.
The YWCA Australia is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1880 and works on the frontline for improving gender equality and eliminating violence against women. YWCA Australia has a footprint which extends from the Northern Rivers to Nowra on the South Coast. Across four regions, through the delivery of early intervention and support programs, we work to empower women, children, young people and their families, to find their possible. YWCA Australia raises funds through profit-for-purpose businesses, donations, and government grants to provide a range of programs and services.
The Family Referral Service
The Family Referral Service is a prevention and early intervention service that provides information, case coordination and referrals to local community services for families with children and young people who need assistance with the challenges and demands of family life. The Family Referral Service can link vulnerable children, young people and their families, with the most appropriate available support services in the local area.
